Death is a very weird concept to me as it is something that happens to us all, not a nice fact but the truth is we all die. At some point in our life we will know someone who will die and their loss affects us on an emotional level. Why? Because it is how the human race has been 'brought up' to see death as. Back when people where raging wars with other countries in very early years (Greek, Egyptian & Roman Eras) death was seen as a sign of defeat. If you lost your soldiers then that means more chance of defeat. This kick-started the idea of being sad when death occurs. Lets move on a few hundred years. People have started living longer lives. Once upon a time people lived in to their 40s and died. Now people are living until 60 and 70 and 80!! Why? Human evolution and medial advances. This means death is more uncommon, which cause it to be more of a shock to someone when it happens, because it never really happens. People aren't accustomed to the feeling of loss. People expect medicine to cure everything, HIV, cancer, smallpox, because that's the idea, medicine is a chemical compound which fights of an illness or infection. But the reality is that medicine doesn't cure everything. But people don't expect that. They have made scientific advancements in their mind that haven't actually happened yet. They expect too much, so then they get upset when they realize that death hasn't been cured, only life has been extended. The idea of death it is still there, waiting.
Now looking at death from a 1st person perspective and our own view on the end, it seems that a lot of people say that they don't fear death, that they will die and not be scared. And you may think that but the truth is that every human being is scared of the unknown. No living person has ever been dead. And you certainly haven't. You can't be not scared of something if you don't know what it is, that's being foolish. By all means accept death but never say you aren't scared of it. Because every human on this planet is scared of what they don't know. Another weird example; if I say "i have something shocking to tell you" and then I never say the shocking thing you will be scared about what it could be and you'll want to know the answer because it is out curious nature of wanting to know information. As soon as a human being is blocked from learning what they want to they panic and get scared because it goes against what is going on in the brain. If you say you aren't scared of death, just think. Do you really know what you are not scared of?
Stay Happy
